ARTIST STATEMENT
My work begins with the belief that movement connects people, nature, and memory. Through Ecological Jazz Movements (EJM), I bring together the cultural roots of Authentic Jazz and the philosophy of traditional Korean dance. I see improvisation as a way of listening and responding—not only to other people, but also to the natural world.
Guided by a Movement Analysis, my choreography and research explore how personal experiences can become shared human experiences through movement. My goal is to create work that builds meaningful connections between the body, culture, and ecology.

My long-term vision is to grow Ecological Jazz Movements (EJM) into a living practice that bridges Authentic Jazz, Korean dance, and our relationship with nature.
Through choreography, research, and collaboration, I hope to honor the roots of Authentic Jazz while contributing to its continued evolution. I aspire to build an international community of artists who value cultural heritage, ecological awareness, and meaningful dialogue through movement.
As a Korean artist, I hope to offer a distinctive perspective to the global Authentic Jazz community, showing how movement can create meaningful connections across cultures, people, and nature.
